About Aunt Stella

Have you ever been curious about the story behind Aunt Stella's warm smile and the basket of delicious cookies she holds?

How have these delectable handmade cookies continued to thrive for over forty years?

Aunt Stella is the aunt of the brand's founder, Joseph Dunkle. Born in Germany, she later immigrated to the United States. As a kindergarten teacher, she delighted in sharing her homemade cookies with those around her. In 1982, her nephew Joseph opened the first handmade cookie shop in Tokyo, naming it Aunt Stella. He honored traditional values by promoting the recipes passed down by his aunt, which quickly endeared themselves to Japanese consumers. In early 1989, they expanded into Taiwan, preserving the unique kneading techniques and flavors of handmade cookies, becoming a part of many consumers' significant life moments.

There's a taste that's both classic and nostalgic.

"There's no secret; we simply insist on using the finest ingredients, such as imported Australian cream, and opt for high-quality, healthy, and rare ingredients like Arab sugar or Japanese Sanontō sugar. Each cookie reflects our dedication." - Joseph Dunkle, Founder

There's an intention that remains unchanged over time.

"The essence of making handmade cookies lies not in controlling oven temperatures, but in the warm thoughts poured into making them for someone. That's what makes handmade cookies so precious." - Stella Dunkle
